Fayose: Buhari in London Hospital for medical treatment, says: “he is vindicated”

Another press statement from Ekiti state…
Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has said that the APC presidential candidate, Major General Mohammadu Buhari (rtd) who  travelled to the United Kingdom (UK) for medical treatment is being attended to at a London hospital, describing the medical trip as a vindication of his earlier stand that Buhari was sick and lacked the required capacity to rule Nigeria.
He said; “as against the claim of the APC that Bihari was on a short working visit to the UK, Buhari is being treated at a hospital located at Cavendish Street, Cavendish Square, W2 London West End, London.”

Speaking through his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, the governor described claim by the APC that Buhari will give a talk at the Royal Institute of International Affairs, Chatham House, London as “deceit taken too far.”
He said; “The event listed on Royal Institute of International Affairs website; http:// www.chathamhouse.org/events to hold on February 23 and 24 is; ‘Security and Defence: Rising powers and the future of defence cooperation’ and Buhari’s name is not listed among the speakers.
“For the avoidance of doubt; the event’s keynote speakers are; former Brazil Minister of Defence,  Celsius Amorin; UK Parliamentary Under Secretary of State and Minister of Defence Equipment Support and Technology, Celsius Amorin; Chief of the Defence Staff, UK Ministry of Defence, General Sir Nicholas Houghton; Chief Executive of BAE System, Ian King and Secretary General, Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, Dr Abdulatif Bin Rashid Al Zayani.
“Apart from the above listed five persons, 25 others are listed as speakers.
“So, in which Royal Institute of International Affairs’ event is Buhari participating as a speaker?
“This is not to mock Buhari or which him death. Rather, it is to expose the falsehood of the APC  and desperation of its leaders, especially Senator Bola Tinubu to foist another Yar’Adua saga on Nigeria.”
The governor maintained; “The truth is that Buhari travelled out on Thursday to seek medicare in UK and he was attended to at a hospital located in Cavendish Street, Cavendish Square, W2 London West End, London on Friday.
“If the APC people are saying otherwise, let them publish the picture of Buhari boarding the plane and granting interview to Aviation Correspondents at the Abuja Airport.
“While I am happy that the APC people that are packaging Buhari finally hearkened to my plea that they should allow him (Buhari) to seek medicare abroad, I  must say that it is unpatriotic for the APC to have lied that Buhari travelled on a working visit.

“The party should be honest enough to tell Nigerians that Buhari is actually sick and lack
capacity to rule Nigeria and that they are  only packaging him, hoping that he will become incapacitated if he becomes president so that they can take over power by proxy.

Maiduguri—Borno State chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Ali Bukar Dalori and some members of the state House of Assembly, who were meeting at one of the government’s lodge in Maiduguri, were, Tuesday, forced to scale the perimeter fences for dear life, following a clash between the police attached to the former and hoodlums claiming to be members of the vigilante group, popularly called Civilian JTF.

A sign near a checkpoint of a vigilante group reads Civilian J.T.F or Civilian Joint Task Force in Maiduguri,. Young men and women have in recent weeks formed vigilante groups, hunting down Boko Haram Islamists who have sneaked back into the city following a military offensive on their camps on the Nigerian border with Niger, Chad and Cameroon with remarkable success.

Although Vanguard gathered that the incident did not involved any registered member of the Civilian JTF, the political thugs claimed to be members of the group.

The clash, according to investigation, erupted when police attached to the APC Chairman attempted to stop some youths, who claimed that the APC Chairman assigned them to carry out certain assignment against PDP, part of which was to remove all PDP billboards, flags in Maiduguri.

The youths said after accomplishing their mission, they ended up disappointed as they were denied payment.

‘They’re impatient’

Sources closed to the APC Chairman said: “The hired thugs are impatient. When they came demanding to see the Chairman, they were told that he is in a meeting. But they were not ready to wait.

“They told the police that they are in a hurry and that it would take nothing for the Chairman to come out and settle them before he goes back to continue with his meeting. But you know, the instruction was given the police and they need to carry it out.”

A Civilian JTF, Mallam Labor Yahaya, confirmed the clash, but said members of his group were not involved in the fracas.

He said: “The thugs, who also carried Dane guns, started the shooting. The police shot one of the rampaging youths in the leg and one of the thugs also shot the policeman in his leg.”

hacked APC alleges phones of Tinubu, Amaechi, other party leaders

The APC is alleging that the phones of its national leaders including Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, Bola Tinubu, Rotimi Amaechi, Timipree Sylva and others have been hacked. In a statement released yesterday Feb. 12th, the APC also alleged that there are plans to arrest its National Publicity secretary Lai Mohammed in the coming days. The statement in part reads;

“As the elections approach, we know the harassment and intimidation will be stepped up. We know our leaders, including the National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, former Governor Bola Tinubu, Governor Rotimi Amaechi, former Governor Timipre Sylva, Senator Bukola Saraki and National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, are under surveillance and their phones have been hacked. We are aware that several of them, especially the National Publicity Secretary, have been marked down for arrest in the days to come.

We know there are evil plots to frame some of them on trumped-up charges. We know our lives are in danger. But these and more will not deter us from continuing to act in the national interest or from seeking to effect change through the ballot box. Yes, we are alerting Nigerians that if anything happens to us they should know where it is coming from, but for us there is no going back because we are resolute.”

We are glad that instead of weakening the resolve and enthusiasm of Nigerians, the Presidency-orchestated postponement has further galvanized them to be more determined not only to vote but also to defend their votes.

Nigerians must demand and insist that the elections be held as rescheduled, that there will be no interim government or tenure elongation. Nigerians have the power to forge change with their voter’s cards and no one must deny them that right,”
